Namsan Seoul Tower (a.k.a. Seoul Tower) is a communication tower located in Seoul. Built in 1969, and opened to the public in 1980, the tower measures 777 ft in height (from the base) and tops out at 1,574 ft above sea level.
Most visitors ride the cable car up the mountain, and then walk to the tower. Not us, we walked the 700+ steps all the way up and then back down later. The kids never asked to be carried, or complained at all. Man, were our legs feeling it afterward.
The tower features a gift shop and restaurants on the ground floor. There are four observation decks (the 4th observation deck, which is the revolving restaurant, rotates at a rate of one revolution every 48 minutes).
This is a view of from one observation point. We were aware that Seoul is the 5th largest city in the world but didn't fully comprehend what that meant until yesterday. It was necessary to see the city from that vantage point to fully grasp how expansive the city really is.
